Sending a warm message to our friends up north...

Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing great. We are done with the high 30 and 40 degree weather for the time being, thank goodness. It was cold!!!!!

I have something a little bit different to write about this week that I think you will enjoy. I normally write about going to beaches with people and going to Restaurants and Resorts.

How about just going out by your self in the boat, how about going out to Red Fish Pass by your self.

Well two Sundays ago I wanted to go out in the boat for a late afternoon boat ride. I could not find anyone to go with me so went out by myself. I am so glad I did. I put in at Punta Rassa boat ramp cause my Lake and Bay was on the trailer. I headed up Pine Island Sound enjoying the scenery, watching the Dolphins play in the water, watching the Pelicans and Sea Gulls diving down on the pods of bait. I headed out to Red Fish Pass. This is the pass between Captiva and North Captiva Island. It was a little chilly on the water, then I started to think about my friends up north and how cold it was up north. Way too cold for me.

Once I reached Red Fish Pass. I shut off the motor and just watched and listened to the waves crashing on the sand bar. I watched the Sea Gulls and Pelicans and many other aquatic birds flying around almost as if it was play time for them. The other birds were perched on the sand bar. It was so relaxing just listening the waves of the Gulf, listening to the chirping of the birds. Reflecting on how lucky and blessed we are to live in such an amazing place. Just when I thought it could not get any better, the sun began to set, what an amazing sight. The sun was going down and the birds were flying and the waves were crashing on the sand bar. Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing the feeling was and how peaceful it was. NO, NO I am not going crazy, I just forget what is was like to just sit there and enjoy the nature right in out in our own back yard. We are all so busy with the hustle and bustle of life that we never slow down to enjoy the simple things. Watching that sun setting made me thing to start snapping photos for our friends up north. So here you go I hope these photos brighten up your day and warm you up. Come down to Sunny South West Florida and check it out for your self.
